Platinum Flawless Day

SkinPhD® Flawless Day Cream has been a staple in the winter months when I am treating dry and flaky patches on skin. I was looking for a nice light moisturizer for a client who spends a lot of time in the hot sun working outside- and his skin is dry. I really believe this cream is just about perfect for any season-including summer. With ingredients like firming Hexapeptide-10 and the semi-precious stone Zincite, Flawless Day combines the powers of a cosmeceutical product with the soothing benefits of natural ingredients such as rosemary leaf and lemon root which collectively stimulate cell growth, brighten and even help calm a breakout. Clinical studies on the active ingredients have shown a significant reduction of fine lines and wrinkles in 3 months.

Zincite

Zincite

Some facts about Zincite: historically known for its power to reduce scarring, today we know it plays a role in growth and development of skin. The Zincite used in the flawless day product is derived from the blue green Smithsonite stone which embodies energy. One role of Zinc is that it helps to incorporate amino acids into proteins, resulting in increased elastin production. As we age, our bodies lose the ability to produce elastin. Applying regularly to the face and neck helps ours bodies to produce more elastin resulting in firmer skin.

Five little known benefits of black tea for your skin

xylitum-black-tea-ferment-enlargedBlack tea is one  of the most popular beverages world wide. It comes from the a small shrub scientifically known as Camellia sinensis.  Black, white, and green tea all come from the same plant, but black tea leaves are aged longer than white and green tea leaves, which gives it  a stronger flavor and rich color.

I could ramble on the taste of tea long enough to write a novel,  but what’s more interesting is what this tasty leaf can do for your skin.  When black tea ferments, it’s normally referred to as kombucha.  Kombucha is known to  have many benefits for the skin when applied topically.

1. Kombucha is packed with ingredients that promote healthy skin!

Kombucha  is made of many acids and vitamins that are vital in in order for the skin to stay youthful,  like: gluconic acid, glycuronic acid, lactic acid,  vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6 and B12 and C, and folic acid.

2. Kombucha helps reduce acne breakouts.

During the fermentation process, Lactic and gluconic acids are produced.  These acids help rid the skin of dirt, oil, and dead skin that is trapped deep inside the pores.

3. It is packed with B vitamins.

The B vitamins are essential for  healthy skin.  They help the skin retain a more youthful appearance by boosting the energy of skin cells.  Click here to learn more about the B vitamins!

4. Kombucha helps reduce the appearance of dark spots.

Some of us are born with freckles, but sometimes, little dark spots form over time.  The Citric acid in kombucha helps slow the production of melanocytes, and helps fade existing dark marks.

5. Kombucha helps restore the natural ph balance in the skin.

Sometimes our diets and environmental pollution can increase the ph in skin, which might result in breakouts.  The acids in kombucha help cleanse the skin and restore its natural ph levels.

Even though Kombucha is a super food for our skin, not all products with kombucha are created equal. Skin PhD Renaissance Toner is made with the best Kombucha.  Click here to learn more.
