Papaya: the superfruit in fighting acne and breakouts

Papaya is a superfruit that is just as good for your skin, as it is to eat. Papaya is extremely healthy, and provides our bodies with much needed nutrients. When topically applied,  your skin reaps benefits from the enzymes and minerals in papaya that would normally be absorbed by other organs in the body.

    Peptin

Peptin is an enzyme found in papaya that when eaten, helps with digestion. When topically applied, peptin makes skin have a more smooth and radiant feel.  It also aids in skin elasticity and improves the skin’s overall appearance.

    Papain and chymopapain

These are two enzymes that have antiviral and anti bacterial properties.  Papain has protein degradation properties as well.  These two enzymes improve skin and reduce acne in two ways:

    1. Anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties help rid the skin of bacteria  that irritates the skin and causes acne to form.
    2. Protein degrading enzymes help eliminate the damaged keratinocyte cells that help trap dead skin, bacteria and oil inside pores,  which give pimples a raised appearance and hard feel.

Papaya also contains high levels of vitamin A, C,and E,  which assist in the rejuvenation of healthy skin cells, and help reduce the redness and inflammation caused by irritated skin.
